What To Expect

On your first visit, you will be given a full assessment including neurological and orthopedic assessment, and usually x-rays to check for any nerve or bone issues Dr. Childs would need to be aware of before giving chiropractic care. Once he has reviewed the assessment, he will go through the full report and determine the appropriate treatment plan.

Assessment:

We use scanning, a health survey, and stress survey to complete a health assessment to determine optimal treatment.

Adjustments:

Doctors of Chiropractic are more known for their expertise in caring for patients with back pain, neck pain and headaches. This is typically done through treatment by adjustments. There are many different type of adjustments, for any joint of the body, but typically focus on the spine and neck.

Neck pain and some types of headaches are treated through precise manipulation, or a neck adjustment, to improve joint mobility in the neck. This can restore the range of motion and reduce muscle spasm, which helps relieve pressure and tension. Neck manipulation, when performed by a skilled and well-educated professional (such as Dr. Childs!), is a remarkably safe procedure. Other types of adjustments include…

Many patients feel immediate relief with adjustments, but some may experience mild soreness, stiffness or aching, similar to what you might experience after a new exercise. Any discomfort or soreness following spinal manipulation typically fades within 24 hours.

Length of Treatment:

We are trust-worthy in our care for patients – we won’t treat you long-term if you’re not making progress, but refer you to a care provider who might be better able to help.

Average care is 10-12 visits, depending on ailment, age, and overall health.
